Follonica
Light sandy beaches, clear water and a gently sloping seabed. There are equipped beaches, water sports and areas that are also well suited to families with children.
Castiglione della Pescaia
An old fishing village with long sandy beaches and large pine forests. It is perfect for combining the sea with a walk around the harbour and medieval centre, especially in the evening.
Rocchette
A golden beach sheltered by a pine forest, with clear water and a gently sloping sandy seabed. The rocky area below the fort is also enjoyable for snorkelling.
Monte Argentario
A spectacular promontory between Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, full of coves and transparent water. It ranges from sandy tombolo beaches to wilder rocky bays, often reached on foot.
Carbonifera
Inside Sterpaia Coastal Park, it is surrounded by fine sandy dunes and a centuries-old pine forest. The shallow water makes it a particularly easy choice for families.
Cala Violina
A natural cove in the Bandite di Scarlino reserve, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and famous for its transparent water. It is beautiful, but requires some planning.
During the regulated season, advance booking is compulsory. The beach can only be reached on foot or by bicycle, and it is almost a 1.5 km walk from the Val Martina car park.
