Recommended parking

Villa Costanza car park: access it directly from the A1 motorway. Leave the car and take tram T1 to Santa Maria Novella; the journey takes about 22 minutes.

Arrival

Santa Maria Novella → Piazza del Duomo

What you do / see: walk from the central stop to the Duomo in just a few minutes through the heart of Florence.

Stop 1

Duomo, Baptistery and Bell Tower

What you do / see: admire Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Book ahead if you want to climb the Dome.

Stop 2

Piazza della Signoria

What you do / see: follow Via dei Calzaiuoli to Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi.

Stop 3

Uffizi or a riverside walk

What you do / see: book ahead to visit the Uffizi; otherwise cross the courtyard and continue towards the Arno.

Tip: allow at least two hours for a proper Uffizi visit.

Stop 4

Ponte Vecchio

What you do / see: cross the city’s iconic bridge and enjoy its historic shops and views over the Arno.

Stop 5

Santa Croce

What you do / see: head back across the centre to one of Florence’s most beautiful and lively squares.

Tram from Santa Maria Novella

What you do / see: return to the station and take line T1 towards Villa Costanza.

Practical tip: Florence involves plenty of walking. Book the Dome and Uffizi ahead if you plan to enter, and always recheck opening times and tickets.
